In 12 years of being online I've spent thousands of hours researching tools, software, hardware, and publications to grow not only my own business, but those of my customers, friends and family. I provide shortcuts to finding the tools you need to accomplish your goals online, and share some of the odder discoveries too. If an Internet question has been stumping you, I'll help you find the answer. If you've got a great link or idea that will help my readers I'll share it with them. If you've got a tool or app that's a must-have I'll promote it.

I started this site to share all of the cool and interesting things I've discovered on the Internet since starting my web design and online publishing business (www.baddogdesign.com) in 1997.

I am entirely self-taught and went online early in the trajectory, starting out with email in 1995 and exploring usenet groups. I started one of the first - if not the first - community web portal with images and significant content in HTML in Canada, and maybe even on the web.

Over the last 12 years I have built hundreds of small business web sites, but my biggest occupation has been developing and running www.bigpacific.com, the Official Destination Marketing Web Site/community site for the Sunshine Coast of Canada.

This endeavor has required multi-tasking in many varied areas:

• coding
• management of a server
• sourcing and installing a wide number of add-on third-party scripts and applications
• sales and marketing
• customer service
• accounting management
• public relations and tourism ambassadorship

I get a huge rush out of helping people understand the power of the Internet, whether it's for personal use like communicating and sharing information or for incorporating into small business, utilizing many of the web innovations to streamline tasks, secure information, communicate with end customers, gain visibility online, network with other businesses, etc.

I look forward to sharing my discoveries with anyone who is relatively new to the Internet or starting to move beyond the standard business-card web site.
